Richard W. Fuller is an award winning American artist creating contemporary figurative works in the style of the cubist, modernist, and pop-art periods. A two-time juried artist, the California-based painter’s work is inspired by his life experiences. After serving in the US Army, Fuller resumed his studies in fine art and real estate earning a degree in Real Estate. This allowed his artistic practice to evolve in tandem with his home life and career, resulting in his well developed and informed body of work that exists today.
Fuller is a master of technique and form. His style has been evolving throughout his life, but his most noticeable influences are California settings and the Cubist, Modernist, and Pop-Art styles. In his most recent work, he uses a limited but vibrant color palette with sharp diagonals. He often features figurative subjects constructed in varying styles; one may take the form of an abstract woman constructed of geometric shapes, another is a young woman with fauvist accents, lounging beside a Hockney-esque pool. Each piece is a moment in stillness in which the viewer can quickly become captivated by Fuller’s aesthetic and stylistic renderings.
