Parastoo Ahovan is an interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her practice explores themes of politics, social relationships, and human rights through formats of sculpture, mixed media, video, and performance. Mainly abstract in composition, her work expresses themes of power, beauty, and relationships, deeply influenced by her childhood and experience living in Iran.

Her sculptures have been installed and presented internationally at the Venice Biennial, Mykonos Biennial, amongst several other competitions and gallery exhibitions. A graduate of Boston University with an MFA in Sculpture, Ahovan’s work implements modes of expression such as movement, installation, and stonework.
