InquireThe artistry of Rainer Stark hinges on analogy. Coffee grains rubbed into wood might collectively resemble a face or, similarly, the method of frottage comes to mind. What’s essential is that an image is captured in its raw state and after effects and post-production should only clarify this original subject-matter.
Across The Ocean For A Better Life - Impression of a rusted boat hull offers an illustration of Stark’s aesthetics. The rust photographed on the hull of a boat resembles a seascape—a material remnant of the watery elements that have brushed against it for many years.
