Man Zhu is a Chinese New York-based photographer who addresses themes of gender identity, family, and human relations. At Agora Gallery Zhu presents work from her UnFrame Relationship series. The series explores the relationship between the artist and her boyfriend, which started long-distance in 2021.The suite focuses on the coexistence of shared and individual realities, as feelings merge while remaining part of separate identities. In an abstract language of her own, Zhu manipulates the photographic film through discoloration, fogging, fragmentation, and blurring, to convey the emotions and associations conjured by the subjects’ mind. Zhu received an MPS in Digital Photography from the School of Visual Arts, NY, and is the recipient of innumerable photography awards.
