Alina Fedorenko
Chelsea International Photography Competition
January 27 - March 8, 2018
Reception: Thursday, January 1, 1970, 6-8 PM
InquireOften portraying families, men and women, young and old, living in difficult environmental conditions in India, the photographs of Alina Fedorenko disclose a beautiful world of labyrinths and narrow alleys.
What distinguishes Fedorenko’s portraits from those of others who work in and around the mode of documentary realism is the way she allows a lavish coloration to emerge from her chosen settings and subject-matter. Using portraiture as her primary vehicle, she capture the intimacy of everyday life in photographs that frame the importance of familial and communal values.
