Reception: Thursday, January 1, 1970, 6-8 PM
InquireChicago based photographer Jeremy Damato chronicles the social, political, and environmental impacts of the disappearing middle class in his analog photographs. A self taught documentarian, Damato photographs everyday scenes, investigating the stories imbued in diverse urban landscapes. His photos are tableaus that capture and preserve quotidian American life.
Damato’s documentary photos are quick snapshots of daily life that conjure personal stories. Ordinary human interactions are given unusual visibility in his works that expose systemic inequalities with subtle nuance. Through gestures and expressions, his subjects convey unique perspectives on contemporary life in the United States.
