She uses painting as a mode of communication and storytelling to express sensations and connect with viewers and their lived experiences. Muller’s paintings are non-figurative and abstract, implementing mark-making, texture, and chromatic relationships to convey mixtures of emotion.
During her artistic process, Muller simultaneously writes and paints, nurturing a deep relationship between her writing and visual art practice. She is an artist member of the Artist Association of Nantucket (AAN), and regularly exhibits her work at the AAN Gallery. Based in Baltimore, MD, Muller has been painting for over a decade. At first, she began with mixed media and collages but now paints in a variety of mediums such as encaustic painting and oil painting. Painting is gestural, and she believes in experimenting with different mediums in order to express different tones, sensations, and emotions. Her process is meditative and intuitive, providing space for connection with herself and others.
