Pauli Zmolek
Lyrical Narratives and Abstraction
November 24 - December 15, 2020
Reception: Thursday, November 3, 2020, 6-8 PM
InquireAs an esteemed and learned painter, Pauli Zmolek initially earned her BFA from the University of Iowa and then continued her studies while attending the Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore, Maryland. Implementing the tedious techniques of the old master style, Pauli sought to preserve the integrity of America’s historic buildings. She has restored original artwork in the Library of Congress, as well as some decorative designs to the Senate Chamber.
With a style that amalgamates realism, impressionism, and a hint of the fantastical, Pauli opts to work in a variety of mediums - with heavy preference to watercolors. Her more recent work captures the traditional coastal lifestyle of fishing communities, natural beauty of the Chesapeake area and its surrounding wildlife.
