Aparajita Sen is an Indian-American contemporary Artist living and working in the New York Area. She graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Finance. Subsequently, she worked in the Finance industry for some years, but made every effort to pursue her artistic interests by continuing to draw and sketch whenever she had the time. Her strong desire to immerse herself in art led her to make the decision to leave her career in finance and turn her passion for art into a career. She has since completed several years of training, studying under several significant artists. Sen has a Graphic Design Certificate from Rutgers University and has completed Visual Arts and Art History courses at Princeton University.

Sen’s work strives to convey a sense of mystery, poetry, lyrical rhythm, and movement of patterns in nature and the environment. Her work is strongly influenced by her background, drawing from her Indian heritage and family members, and her passion for the environment. Using vibrant colors and mixed media, she presents symbolism and impressions in a contemporary, abstract style. Each painting is a product of deep reflection, meditation, and emotion. Sen continues to focus on developing her skills and expand her artistic range by experimenting with new techniques, media, and themes.
