Growing up in Marktheidenfeld, Bavaria, Elke Riedel was inspired to paint by a childhood friend. Drawn to vivid colors and dynamic forms, Elke works primarily with acrylics, and finds experimentation to be a vital part of her creative process. Her style shifts at times, led by intuition. “While painting I often follow my emotional instincts and spontaneous impulses,” Elke says, “but sometimes I spend many hours studying and reflecting until I find the right angle.” Life is far from monotonous, she believes, and art should be no exception.Color is vital to Elke's work, and with each piece she enjoys playing with the mix and flow of her paint. Whether she is creating absolute abstractions or pieces with remnants of the figurative world, Elke fills each canvas with her own creative energy and deep-rooted emotions. “Everything I feel, think, and see gets portrayed in my art,” Elke says. “As my daily surroundings change, I am forever influenced in unique and diverse ways with my art.”Elke Riedel works in Nuremberg, Germany.
