With a strong focus on mountainous landscapes, snow-capped peaks, and the rural terrane, Pigneter captures the essence of the outdoors through abstraction. His style is powerful and expressionistic, which he achieves through the use of bold colors and his palette knife. Pigneter is also recognized for his portraits of the people of Tyrol; for these works, he uses styles reminiscent of the old masters, painting solely with oil on a large canvas.
