InquireDede Schumacher uses broad brush strokes coupled with a bold color palette to create her transcendental paintings; encompassing dynamic movements and mystical qualities. Schumacher’s most distinctive works depict horses and angels, creating narratives that surround power, fervor, grace, and mystery.
The intemperate mind, the wild eyes, the warm heart, and the tenderness of the horse is what Schumacher tries to capture in her work. Bold, raw colors contrast against stark light capturing the essence and soul of every horse that she paints.
Having lived in Mexico and experienced the holiday, Day of the Dead, Schumacher also began incorporating angels into her subject matter. Each of Schumacher’s angels has been assigned a specific color and job in the universe; her extensive array of colors captures their ethereal nature and greater purpose.
