Di Taylor began pursuing a career in the arts while attending the National Art School in Sydney, Australia. Since then, numerous prestigious galleries throughout Australia have hosted Taylor in solo exhibitions, highlighting her mastery in painting. Applying a multitude of techniques and exploring a variety of mediums, Taylor uses translucent pigments that are applied within multiple layers on the canvas, creating her bold color palette and heightening the textural energy of her work.
Taylor’s artistic career is founded on philanthropy and the idea of investing in the greater community through creating opportunities for female artists, specifically through her involvement with organizations such as Save the Children, Rafikki Surgical Mission, and the Bali Children’s Foundation. Having worked in indigenous communities in some of the most remote regions of Western Australia, Taylor’s inspiration comes from both the landscapes she has visited and the children, as well as community members, with whom she formed close bonds. Aiming to portray intrinsic truths, Taylor’s work emphasizes the essence of the human experience; the importance of remaining present, being compassionate, relishing in the every day, and recognizing our integral belonging to the environment.
