Following brilliantly in the footsteps of his father, who was one of the 26 Florida Highwaymen, self-taught landscape painter Hezekiah Baker creates stunningly gorgeous paintings with attention paid even to the most minute details. Although he has only been painting for two years, Baker has developed an incredibly keen sensibility for color, light, and detail, and his paintings powerfully convey the beauty of the scenes he is depicting.
Baker was initially not interested in the idea of painting when it was presented to him at a young age by his father, and instead chose to pursue a career in the military upon turning 18. After 22 years spent travelling in the line of duty and collecting vast stores of vivid memories of everywhere that he had been, he retired and one morning found himself at the mercy of a strange and insatiable desire to paint. From that day onward, Baker has been teaching himself to create his gorgeous landscapes based on the memories he had collected of the world.
