September 29 - September 29, 2023
Reception: Thursday, September 29, 2023, 6-8 PM
InquireMichele Valenza was born in 1950. He began his artistic career in 1968. He has participated in numerous exhibitions, in Italy and abroad. His works can be found in numerous public and private collections.
It carries out its activity in Villalba, province of Caltanissetta (Sicily) in the S. Nicola district, where he lives and works. His love for art leads him to organize group exhibitions and symposiums with international and foreign artists with great success. In 1994 he created the monument to the farmer in MARIANOPOLI In 1999 he hosted the entire ne arts academy of THAE GHU SOUTH KOREA. (Number 56 between professors and students). Since 1996 he organizes international symposiums in Sicily. In 2001 he organized the international symposium “FROM NEW ZEALAND TO SICILY”. He has many requests for symposiums all over the world but is limited to holding only two symposiums each year outside his native Sicily.
Michele Valenza can sculpt marble giving it an expressive capacity with a classicist technique but of modern psychology. His images nullify the verb while taming an emotion: a sensation of pleasure and beauty reinterpreted in a sublime way. Admiring his sculptures reminds me of Bernini who with his work "The Ascension of the Virgin" gives posterity to the concept of orgasmic ecstasy.
