Reception: Thursday, September 29, 2023, 6-8 PM
InquireNutty Trapanig, born Giovanni Trapani, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, authoritative exponent, since 1995, of Street Art, son of the eighties, of a generation among the most important for various sectors, including that of the urban art.
Today urban art is acclaimed by critics of the international expressionistic scene and Trapanig with his geniusness, between imagination and romanticism, sends messages thanks to an extraordinary creative reality.
His art was born from his childhood passion for cartoons and toys, by which he was strongly influenced visually and, in his thoughts, he still keeps the notebook of drawings he made with his mother, a professor of art and drawing.
He followed the path of the Hip Hop movement, influenced by the study of contemporary art history and following the works of Kelth Haring and Jean Michel Basquiat. His works are pinches that wake you up from your torpor, they always try to launch you towards an emotion, a reflection, behind his drawings there is always an idea and a reason. Each of his works has one or more characters as the main protagonist, always depicted in a central position, static or in any case at the beginning of an action that has not yet taken place, so as to prevent the viewer from making an imposed choice.
His characters are armed but harmless, in the positive sense of the term, they are to be observed in a romantic key, which reflects his vision of relating to art, romanticism not in an existential key, but as Romantic Resistance to the events that can cross our lives.
Urban propaganda launches a message, politics is very important for Trapanig, his doing politics is painting because it is taking a stand, it is launching a precise message "I exist". Trapanig is recognizable by the subject he always represents, he is a hybrid and a warrior who always has a helmet on his head, it is no coincidence that he painted so many of these warriors, creating an imaginary army of resistance. The artist Trapanig is the best representation of the street artist ... his striking-colored grati manages to give positive emotions even on social issues such as peace and the environment. Leonardo in the Renaissance was the first artist to paint a smile in his best work the Mona Lisa, Trapanig manages to bring current social themes from the sublime to the beautiful.
