The Chelsea International Photography Competition
December 17 - January 12, 2021
Reception: Thursday, December 19, 2020, 6-8 PM
InquireTurkish artist Gülsen Göksel lives and works out of Switzerland and the United States. She discovered art at an early age, as her family moved around the world. She uses her heritage as a major influence and focus in her work. In her photography, she aims to capture the power of women in her culture, where religion, customs and traditions dominate.
She aims to demonstrate the importance and impact of a female's point of view. Her ongoing projects will serve as a catalyst to re-frame how we see, think, and express our visual narrative. The prolific artist visualizes the concerns, pains, and joys of a woman embracing all cultures from east to west, using all forms of experimental photography.
