Francisco de Paula Vieira
Reception: Thursday, January 1, 1970, 6-8 PMInquire
Francisco de Paula Vieira specializes in black and white photography, allowing his compositions to become abstracted due to the nature of the light and shadow devoid of color. These forms then twist and turn as graphical creatures, gradually revealed from in the planes of light.
The lack of color in the images allows viewers to experience a form of synesthesia where they project their own colors and interpretations upon the images before them, allowing the images to actively transform for each viewer.
