As a Spanish painter and artist, Iván Montaña draws inspiration from his childhood. Memories of his fashion designer mother and Mexican grandmother have been a driving force and positive influence visible throughout his work. Montaña believes that the mix of cultures has made him more open to life and a painter not misunderstood.
Montaña's work tells a story for the search of beauty in what is broken and decaying. To him, creating is a rewarding experience and with each piece, he releases a sense of freedom that invites his viewers to look deep within themselves.
