Inquire View CatalogThe paintings of American Inter-Dimensional Visionary artist Olivia Kapoor are notable, because of the way they reveal ethereal dimensions within the nature of time and emotion interpreted through concepts such as: hues of color, geometry, and texture. Working predominantly in acrylic, oil, and pastel, this artist constructs highly saturated canvases that defy certain traditional, and realist expressions of color and form.
Her overall technique blends together contemporary painting ideas, with the style of Surrealist and Impressionist masters such as Salvador Dalí (forms), Vincent Van Gogh (texture) and Claude Monet (color). Kapoor describes her approach as “intimate and reflective.” She explains: “My state of mind and my emotions contribute greatly to my process, for each work itself, and how it comes together. Of my art, oftentimes I ask myself while creating: What do you want them to feel? What do you want them to know?" The artist’s compelling juxtapositions of pattern(s) and dimension(s) are all at once immersive and dynamic, thus inviting the viewer to continuously evolve and interact with Kapoor in her dream-like world with paint, on canvas.
Kapoor has had a passion for art since before she graduated high school in 2005. During her time there, she received an achievement award for her dedication to and interest in Ceramics (2005). Her current ambition is to have her art on display at the Institute of Contemporary Art, London, the Museum of Modern Art, Manhattan, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.
