Amanda Dorval is a talented photographer based in Queens, New York. She comes from a diverse family with roots in Southern Iberian, Native American, and Western Sub-Saharan African cultures. Her work is deeply influenced by the unique experiences of Nuyorican communities.

Dorval's art is centered around the cultural legacy of colonialism and the history of the Taíno tribe. She uses a variety of mediums, including beadwork, photography, and fabrics, to create powerful pieces that capture the essence of the Nuyorican experience. One of the critical themes in Dorval's work is Indigenous Futurism. This concept is evident in her use of traditional techniques and materials in new and innovative ways.
