Benjamin L.M. is a Los Angeles-based artist who approaches painting as a transcendent, spiritual activity. Coming from Adelaide, Australia, Benjamin naturally gravitated toward art. As a young man, he was deeply impressed by the work of Salvador Dalí, glimpsed by chance in an art catalog. Later, when he saw firsthand the works of the great European Modernists like Cezanne, Picasso, Gauguin and Francis Bacon, he made up his mind to become an artist.

Benjamin got into art college, but never went a single day. He believed there is no better teacher than life itself. His paintings are ecstatic, primitive, sensitive, symbolic, gestural and always original. The artist starts with a title, a meaningful thought or a feeling, around which he then builds his painting. He strives for maximum meaning and maximum emotional impact. He works in acrylic paint, oil paint, and oil stick. There is no technique or formula here, anything goes all the time. Paintings like Glory and Love and Go for It contain an uplifting message of hope and joy.
