Sculptor Karla Garcia is participating in Agora Gallery’s Latin American Fine Art Competition Exhibition running from December 10 – December 20, 2019. Garcia has received excellent reviews of her four-month interactive installation, “Carrito de Memorias” (Memory Cart), at the Dallas Museum of Art.

While Garcia’s Mexican heritage is present in her work, she also finds the in-betweenness of cultures as well. Her research-based artwork is a connecting point from her own history to ancient histories, noting that, “I hope that my work can be a catalyst for the public to experience a little bit of our human history in unexpected ways.”
