To say that Italian oil painter Mauro Masin has perfected his techniques for realism is an understatement. His interest in depicting simple yet realistic paintings along with his skill to bend light and shadows is highly sophisticated and has made his art stand out amongst his peers. 

Masin grew up in Veneto and began painting at 18. While his Italian culture influenced him, the utterly self-taught painter looked to American artist Edward Hooper's works for inspiration. Through his work, Masin tells the stories of ordinary people. He respectfully paints them by portraying their daily lives beautifully and appreciatively.
