His figures, enthralled in some cases, contemplative in others and quotidian in yet more, describe a moving narrative of his native country of India in flux. Compelled to document the traditions and cultures of vanishing people, Chakraborty is continuously inspired by the beauty he finds in the people across India. His works aim to present relations on a human level, inviting the viewer to connect with his subjects.
Born and raised in India and having lived in many countries around the world, Chakraborty currently lives and works in St. Paul, Minnesota.
