A Spanish painter from Madrid, Ignatius sees his paintings as a means of expressive communication, and with each piece he paints to break the monotony of the 2-dimensional world. His goal to capture and engage viewers minds drives his work so his paintings evoke memories and real human connections. Ignatius grew up in Madrid under his mathematician father who was also a painter. As a young boy his father introduced him to Spanish Informalism or Abstract Expressionism and, since then Ignatius has thought of and seen art in this way. As his career blossomed, he became very close to the Informalism movement with other notable Spanish artists such as Antonio Tapies, Lucio Muñoz and the Paso Group. With travel his process developed, and he became very interested in the differences of socio-cultural behavior between men and women around the world. Today he paints to show the feminine and masculine emotions expressed without patriarchal prejudices. He aims to show viewers the purest version of feminine emotions and feminist art. With his mixed media paintings, Ignatius is deconstructing myths and freeing raw emotion allowing all who view them to receive certain meanings and sensations.
