Kristin Dillon’s unique photographic artistry highlights both the mundane and the profound of the seasonal landscapes of small-town Maine where most of her photography is taken. Dillon defines her sense of home as one of transience. She grew up in the Twin Cities and in her early twenties relocated to rural Maine where she has lived off-and-on for eight years. The unfamiliar and strange fuel her sense of curiosity and through photography she continues to act as a curious passerby in her own community. Since age twelve, Dillon has always carried a camera and often finds her best work spontaneously. She also describes herself as a lifelong student of behavioral patterns and sociology, and views photography as a way to foster a connection with her subject that could just as well last a half hour as it could a life time. Dillon lives in Whitefield, Maine with her two children and husband. Commercially, Dillon specializes in documentary style photography and portraiture.
